Georgiana Carla Lircă a cucerit medalia de argint în limitele categoriei 55 kg, iar Maria Panțiru (65 kg) și-a adjudecat bronzul, ambele reeditând performanțele repurtate la Campionatul Eruopean U 20 de la Santiago de Compostela (Spania), din iunie a.c.
Georgiana Carla Lircă, antrenată de Csaba Fazakas, Ferenc Gyarmati și Dragoș Vlad la CSS - CSM Târgu Mureș, unde este legitimată, a fost învinsă în finala mondială de bielorusa Aryna Martynava, care a concurat în lotul sportivilor neutri individual.
Sportiva tricoloră în vârstă de 19 ani, campioană europeană de cadeți în 2021, vicecampioană europeană anul acesta la U20, și bronz european U20, în 2022, s-a calificat în lupta pentru aur cu trei victorii, una dintre acestea împotriva japonezei Mao Kiyooka, campioană mondială en-titre.
Maria Panțiru, vice-campioană mondială, în 2022, la U17, anul acesta, la 18 ani, a cucerit medaliile de bronz atât la Mondiale U20 cât și la Europenele U20. Pregătită de Stan Jenel și Șerban Mumjiev, la CSS NR. 4 - CSU A.S.E BUCUREȘTI, unde este legitimată, și șlefuită la lotul reprezentativ de același Mumjiev, împreună cu Valentin Popescu și Mirela Burnichi, Maria Panțiru își continuă drumul spre marea performanță. Silver and bronze for Romania at the World U20 Wrestling Championships
Romania's representatives climbed the podium twice at the World U20 Wrestling Championship that took place in August in Amman, Jordan.
