Mihai Covaliu, președintele COSR, George Boroi, secretarul general al COSR, Bogdan Matei, președintele Agenției Naționale pentru Sport, Gabriel Bulumac, director general Romfilatelia, membri ai Comitetului Executiv al COSR, împreună cu Alina Marinescu, artista care a realizat desenele ilustrate din cadrul emisiunii filatelice, membru al Clubului Ilustratorilor, Stela Ilie și Patricia Suliman, fondatorul, respectiv președintele Clubului, au fost prezenți la emoționantul eveniment.

Colecția, care adună într-un format durabil emoția competiției, identitatea națională și respectul pentru performanță, a fost lansată într-un moment cu încărcătură simbolică aparte.

O mare parte a componenților TEAM ROMANIA se află deja în Italia, iar ceilalți li se vor alătura în curând pentru ca împreună să fie prezenți la ceremoniile care vor marca startul celei de a XXV-a ediții de iarnă a Jocurilor Olimpice unde cu toții vor încerca să se autodepășească și să se apropie cât mai mult de medaliile olimpice.

Mihai Covaliu, președintele COSR: ”Comitetul Olimpic și Sportiv Român se mândrește cu parteneriatul cu Romfilatelia. Este un parteneriat firesc, de lungă durată. Este un parteneriat care promovează excelența, fair play-ul, respectul, cultura - valori promovate de ambele instituții.

”Comitetul Olimpic și Sportiv Român și Romfilatelia sunt doi ambasadori de excepție pentru România, iar acum, în prag de începere a Jocurilor Olimpice de iarnă de la Milano Cortina, această emisiune filatelică vine ca o normalitate, cu un concept perfect adaptat Jocurilor Olimpice și a imaginii pe care Italia o are în lume.

”Suntem foarte bucuroși că putem spune, prin această emisiune filatelică, povestea sportivilor care reprezintă România la Jocurile Olimpice Milano Cortina, o poveste frumoasă și plină de angajament.

”Sigur, toată lumea se întreabă dacă vom avea medalii, pentru că noi urmărim, în primul și în primul rând, medaliile. Eu vă spun însă: avem o delegație de sportivi și cu expediență, dar și tineri, iar participare la Jocuri va fi o provocare pentru toți pentru că sunt răspândiții în mai multe zone de competiție din munții Italiei. Va fi o ediție specială și vom fi alături de tricolori, îi vom încuraja și sperăm, în primul și în primul rând, ca ei să se autodepășească, să-și depășească cea mai bună performanță pe care au obținut-o și, de ce nu, trebuie să sperăm și să credem că vor ajunge și în lupta pentru medalii”.

Gabriel Bulumac, director general Romfilatelia: ”Poșta Română și Romfilatelia au fost, sunt și vor fi aproape de sportivii români necondiționat. Poșta Română sărbătorește anul acesta 164 de ani, iar în acești 164 de ani, prima emisiune filatelică dedicată Jocurilor Olimpice de iarnă a fost în 1964, deci acum 62 de ani.

”De atunci au fost mai multe emisiuni filatelice, iar noutatea anul acesta este colaborarea pe care o avem cu Clubul Ilustratorilor din România, un club cu 60 de artiști români pe care încercăm să-i promovăm. În 2022, am avut o serie de cărți poștale cu teme de identitate națională, iar anul trecut am avut o emisiune filatelică dedicată bucuriilor iernii la care, la fel, au lucrat artistii români.

”Acum avem această frumoasă emisiune filatelică realizată de Alina Marinescu, un liant în societatea românească și un mijloc de comunicare. Pentru evenimentul de acum, am pregătit și o serie de mărci poștale pe care le puteți trimite cu titlu gratuit”, a precizat directorul general Romfilatelia.

Cei prezenți la eveniment au fost primii care au putut transmite noile cărți poștale cu ajutorul căsuței poștale aduse special la Muzeul Sportului.

Artista Alina Marinescu a mărturisit că demult și-a dorit o colaborare cu Romfilatelia, iar realizarea ilustrațiilor emisiunii filatelice ”Team Romania la Jocurile Olimpice Milano Cortina 2026” a fost un vis împlinit.

Pentru cei 29 de sportivi care vor reprezenta România la Milano Cortina 2026 aventura olimpică va începe pe 6 februarie când va avea loc deschiderea oficială Jocurilor!

The Philatelic Issue “Team Romania at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games” Launched at the Sports Museum in Bucharest

The Olympic Games! The dream of any athlete who has dedicated their life to sporting performance! A postage stamp – a symbol of excellence!

Two days before the start of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, together with Romfilatelia, launched at the Sports Museum the philatelic issue “Team Romania at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games,” a collection composed of four postage stamps, a perforated miniature sheet and a first-day cover, each element conceived as a visual expression of the Olympic spirit and of the sports in which Romania is represented at the largest sporting competition of this winter.

Mihai Covaliu, President of ROSC, George Boroi, Secretary General of ROSC, Bogdan Matei, President of the National Agency for Sport, Gabriel Bulumac, General Director of Romfilatelia, members of the ROSC Executive Committee, together with Alina Marinescu, the artist who created the illustrated drawings of the philatelic issue and member of the Illustrators’ Club, Stela Ilie and Patricia Suliman, founder and president of the Club respectively, were present at the emotional event.

The collection, which brings together in a lasting format the emotion of competition, national identity and respect for performance, was launched at a moment with particular symbolic significance. A large part of the members of TEAM ROMANIA are already in Italy, and the others will soon join them so that together they may attend the ceremonies marking the start of the XXVth Winter edition of the Olympic Games. All of them will strive to surpass themselves in the Olympic competitions and to get as close as possible to the Olympic medals.

Mihai Covaliu, President of ROSC: “The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee is proud of its partnership with Romfilatelia. It is a natural, long-term partnership. It is a partnership that promotes excellence, fair play, respect, culture – values promoted by both institutions.

“The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee and Romfilatelia are two exceptional ambassadors for Romania, and now, on the eve of the Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina, this philatelic issue comes as something natural, with a concept perfectly adapted to the Olympic Games and to the image that Italy has in the world.

“We are very pleased that through this philatelic issue we can tell the story of the athletes representing Romania at the Milano Cortina Olympic Games, a beautiful story full of commitment.

“Of course, everyone is asking whether we will win medals, because first and foremost we look at medals. However, I tell you this: we have a delegation of experienced athletes as well as young ones, and participation in the Games will be a challenge for all, as they are spread across several competition areas in the mountains of Italy. It will be a special edition and we will stand by our tricolor athletes, we will encourage them and we hope, first and foremost, that they will surpass themselves, exceed their best performances achieved so far and, why not, we must hope and believe that they will also reach the fight for medals.”

Gabriel Bulumac, General Director of Romfilatelia: “Romanian Post and Romfilatelia have been, are and will be unconditionally close to Romanian athletes. Romanian Post celebrates 164 years this year, and in these 164 years, the first philatelic issue dedicated to the Winter Olympic Games was in 1964, that is 62 years ago. Since then, there have been several philatelic issues, and the novelty this year is the collaboration with the Illustrators’ Club of Romania, a club with 60 Romanian artists whom we are trying to promote. In 2022, we had a series of postcards with national identity themes, and last year we had a philatelic issue dedicated to the joys of winter, also created by Romanian artists. Now we have this beautiful philatelic issue created by Alina Marinescu, a bond within Romanian society and a means of communication. For this event, we have also prepared a series of postage stamps that you may send free of charge.”

Those present at the event were able to send the new postcards using the mailbox specially brought to the Sports Museum.

Artist Alina Marinescu confessed that she had long wished for a collaboration with Romfilatelia, and designing the philatelic issue Team Romania at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games was a dream come true.

For the 29 athletes who will represent Romania at Milano Cortina 2026, the Olympic adventure will begin on 6 February, when the official opening of the Games will take place!
