Mihai Covaliu, președintele COSR și secretarul general, George Boroi au onorat invitația gazdelor, a președintelui Nicolae Juravschi. Evenimentul a celebrat parcursul instituțional al forului olimpic moldovean și contribuția sa la dezvoltarea sportului și promovarea valorilor olimpice.

Fondat la 29 ianuarie 1991 și recunoscut de Comitetul Internațional Olimpic în 1993, Comitetul Național Olimpic și Sportiv din Republica Moldova a construit, de-a lungul celor trei decenii și jumătate, o structură solidă de susținere a sportivilor și de reprezentare a țării în competițiile internaționale majore.

Cu această ocazie aniversară, Comitetul Olimpic și Sportiv Român a decernat distincția „Excelența Olimpică”, ca semn de apreciere pentru contribuția la dezvoltarea mișcării olimpice și pentru consolidarea parteneriatului dintre cele două Comitete.

Președintele COSR Mihai Covaliu a subliniat importanța momentului aniversar și semnificația distincției:

„Aniversarea a 35 de ani de la înființarea Comitetului Național Olimpic și Sportiv din Republica Moldova reprezintă un moment de reflecție asupra unui parcurs construit prin muncă, perseverență și respect față de valorile olimpice. Pentru Comitetul Olimpic și Sportiv Român, este o onoare să ofere distincția Excelența Olimpică unui partener care a demonstrat consecvență în promovarea excelenței sportive și a spiritului olimpic. România și Republica Moldova sunt legate printr-o viziune comună asupra sportului, iar această distincție simbolizează prietenia, solidaritatea și angajamentul nostru pentru dezvoltarea mișcării olimpice în regiune.”

La rândul său, secretarul general al COSR George Boroi a evidențiat caracterul durabil al colaborării dintre cele două instituții:

„Relația dintre COSR și Comitetul Național Olimpic și Sportiv din Republica Moldova este una construită pe încredere, respect reciproc și proiecte comune. Acordarea distincției Excelența Olimpică marchează aprecierea pentru contribuția constantă la formarea sportivilor, la consolidarea structurilor sportive și la păstrarea valorilor fundamentale ale olimpismului. Suntem convinși că acest parteneriat va continua să genereze oportunități și rezultate pentru sportivii ambelor țări.”

Evenimentul aniversar a inclus momente de recunoaștere a performanțelor sportive, evocarea personalităților care au marcat istoria sportului moldovean și discuții privind direcțiile strategice de dezvoltare pentru următorii ani, într-un spirit de cooperare și solidaritate olimpică.

ROSC Granted the Olympic Excellence Order to the NOC of the Republic of Moldova on the Occasion of its 35th Anniversary

The National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova celebrated 35 years since its establishment in a festive setting. The Olympic Dinner brought together representatives of the Olympic movement, athletes, coaches and officials from the Republic of Moldova. During the event, the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee granted the Olympic Excellence Order to the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova.

Mihai Covaliu, President of ROSC, and the Secretary General, George Boroi, honored the invitation of the hosts, President Nicolae Juravschi. The event celebrated the institutional journey of the Moldovan Olympic body and its contribution to the development of sport and the promotion of Olympic values.

Founded on 29 January 1991 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1993, the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova has built, over the course of three and a half decades, a solid structure for supporting athletes and representing the country in major international competitions.

On this anniversary occasion, the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee awarded the “Olympic Excellence” distinction as a sign of appreciation for the contribution to the development of the Olympic movement and for strengthening the partnership between the two Committees.

ROSC President Mihai Covaliu underlined the importance of the anniversary moment and the significance of the distinction:

“The 35th anniversary of the establishment of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova represents a moment of reflection on a journey built through work, perseverance and respect for Olympic values. For the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, it is an honor to offer the Olympic Excellence distinction to a partner that has demonstrated consistency in promoting sporting excellence and the Olympic spirit. Romania and the Republic of Moldova are connected by a shared vision of sport, and this distinction symbolizes our friendship, solidarity and commitment to the development of the Olympic movement in the region.”

In turn, ROSC Secretary General George Boroi highlighted the lasting nature of the collaboration between the two institutions:

“The relationship between ROSC and the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova is built on trust, mutual respect and joint projects. The awarding of the Olympic Excellence distinction marks our appreciation for the constant contribution to athlete development, the strengthening of sports structures and the preservation of the fundamental values of Olympism. We are convinced that this partnership will continue to generate opportunities and results for the athletes of both countries.”

The anniversary event included moments recognizing sporting performances, evocations of the personalities who marked the history of Moldovan sport, and discussions regarding strategic development directions for the coming years, in a spirit of cooperation and Olympic solidarity.
