Comitetul Olimpic și Sportiv Român a fost reprezentat de Mihai Covaliu, președintele COSR și membru al Comitetului Executiv al EOC, și de Ana Maria Brânză, președintele Comisiei Sportivilor COSR. Fosta scrimeră româncă împreună cu Zalina Marghieva din Republica Moldova au vorbit împreună despre organizarea workshopului Athlete365 Career+, de la București, din luna octombrie a acestui an - un exemplu de bună practică și cooperare regională care a inspirat alte comisii să dezvolte proiecte similare.

Pe parcursul celor două zile de lucrări, participanții au abordat teme esențiale privind sprijinul acordat sportivilor, integritatea în sport și consolidarea colaborării între comisiile naționale ale sportivilor.

În cadrul Adunării Generale a Comisiei Sportivilor EOC a avut loc alegerea noii componențe a Comisiei Atletilor EOC (EOC Athletes’ Commission) pentru mandatul 2025–2029. Noul președinte va fi biatlonista Johanna Taliharm (Estonia) care, timp de patru ani, va fi sprijintă de:

• Ronald Rauhe (Germania) – Vicepreședinte

• Zorana Arunovic (Serbia) – Secretar General

• Alexandra Longova (Slovacia)

• Emanuel Silva (Portugalia)

• Dinos Lefkaritis (Cipru)

• Bendeguz Petervari-Molnar (Ungaria)

• Michelle Coleman (Suedia)

Președintele EOC Spyros Capralos a salutat noua Comisie a Sportivilor și a subliniat importanța discuțiilor purtate. „Felicitări noii noastre președinte, Johanna Talihärm, și celorlalți membri aleși ai Comisiei Sportivilor EOC, iar celor care nu au fost aleși, vă rugăm să continuați să participați și să vă asigurați că vocea sportivului este întotdeauna auzită. Toți sportivii care au participat la Forumul Sportivilor Europeni ne-au arătat că sportul european se află pe drumul cel bun. Comitetul Executiv EOC pleacă de la Londra incredibil de optimist în ceea ce privește viitorul, datorită ideilor pe care le-am auzit de la voi toți”, a spus șeful EOC.

Prezența președintelui Mihai Covaliu, în calitate de membru al boardului EOC, a consolidat rolul activ al României în cadrul mișcării olimpice europene și angajamentul COSR pentru reprezentarea sportivilor la cel mai înalt nivel.

Romania present at the European Athletes’ Forum and the EOC Athletes’ Commission General Assembly

London hosted the 8th edition of the European Athletes’ Forum and the General Assembly of the EOC Athletes’ Commission, an event organized by the European Olympic Committee (EOC), which brought together representatives of athletes’ commissions from across the continent for a constructive dialogue on the role and voice of athletes within the Olympic movement.

The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee was represented by Mihai Covaliu, ROSC president and member of the EOC Executive Committee, and Ana Maria Brânză, president of the ROSC Athletes’ Commission. The former Romanian fencer, together with Zalina Marghieva from the Republic of Moldova, spoke about the organization of the Athlete365 Career+ workshop held in Bucharest in October this year – an example of good practice and regional cooperation that inspired other commissions to develop similar projects.

Over the two days of discussions, participants addressed essential topics regarding athlete support, integrity in sport, and strengthening collaboration between national athletes’ commissions.

During the EOC Athletes’ Commission General Assembly, elections were held for the new members of the EOC Athletes’ Commission for the 2025–2029 term. The new president will be biathlete Johanna Taliharm (Estonia), who over the next four years will be supported by:

EOC President Spyros Capralos welcomed the new Athletes’ Commission and emphasized the importance of the discussions held. “Congratulations to our new president, Johanna Talihärm, and to the other elected members of the EOC Athletes’ Commission, and to those who were not elected, we encourage you to continue participating and to ensure that the athlete’s voice is always heard. All the athletes who took part in the European Athletes’ Forum have shown us that European sport is on the right track. The EOC Executive Committee leaves London incredibly optimistic about the future, thanks to the ideas we heard from all of you,” said the EOC president.

The presence of President Mihai Covaliu, as a member of the EOC board, strengthened Romania’s active role in the European Olympic movement and ROSC’s commitment to representing athletes at the highest level.
