La Campionatele Europene de judo de la Zagreb, din Croația, reprezentantul României Alex Creț a cucerit medalia de bronz, în limitele categoriei 90 kg.

În turul secund, elevul antrenorului Emil Morar l-a învins pe belarusul Aleksandr Sidorik, sportiv independent (AIN), în optimi a trecut de sârbul Nemanja Majdov, campion european în 2023, medaliat cu bronz la mondialele din 2019 și campion mondial 2017, în sferturi s-a impus în faţa francezului Loris Tassier, dar a pierdut semifinala cu azerul Eljan Hajiev, fost campion european de juniori în 2022.

În meciul pentru bronz, Alex Creţ l-a învins pe olandezul Noel van't End, campion mondial în 2019.

Bronze Medal for Romania at the European Judo Championships

At the European Judo Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, Romania's representative Alex Creț won the bronze medal in the 90 kg category.

In the second round, coached by Emil Morar, he defeated Belarusian Aleksandr Sidorik, an independent athlete (AIN). In the round 16, he passed Serbian Nemanja Majdov, the European champion in 2023, bronze medalist at the 2019 World Championships, and 2017 world champion. In the quarterfinals, he prevailed against Frenchman Loris Tassier but lost in the semifinals to Azerbaijani Eljan Hajiev, the former junior European champion in 2022.

In the bronze medal match, Alex Creț defeated Dutchman Noel van't End, the world champion in 2019.
