Grupul de lucru al EOC a fost condus de președintele Spyros Capralos și i-a reunit pe Carlos Mornati – secretar general, Raffaele Pagnozzi – consilier al președintelui, Hasan Arat – membru al Comitetului Executiv, Jan Lehmann – director general executiv, și Rossana Ciuffetti – Director Staff EOC.

Din partea Ministerului Sportului din Turcia au fost prezenți viceministrul Hamza Yerlikaya și directorul general Veli Ozan Cakir, iar Comitetul Olimpic al Turciei a fost reprezentat de președintele Ahmet Gulum, secretarul general Nese Gundogan și Mustafa Tankut Turneoglu, membru în Comitetul Executiv.

Întâlnirea a vizat evaluarea stadiului pregătirilor pentru Jocurile Europene din 2027 și a adus în discuție perspectiva candidaturii Istanbulului pentru organizarea Jocurilor Olimpice din 2036.

Working meeting in Istanbul for the 2027 European Games

Mihai Covaliu, President of the Coordination Commission for the Istanbul 2027 European Games, took part in an official working meeting held in Istanbul together with the delegation of the European Olympic Committees Association (EOC). Discussions were held with Turkey’s Minister of Sports, Osman Asikin Bak.

The EOC working group was led by President Spyros Capralos and included Carlos Mornati – Secretary General, Raffaele Pagnozzi – President’s Advisor, Hasan Arat – Executive Committee member, Jan Lehmann – Chief Executive Officer, and Rossana Ciuffetti – EOC Staff Director.

From Turkey’s Ministry of Sports, Deputy Minister Hamza Yerlikaya and Director General Veli Ozan Cakir were present, while the Turkish Olympic Committee was represented by President Ahmet Gulum, Secretary General Nese Gundogan, and Executive Committee member Mustafa Tankut Turneoglu.

The meeting focused on assessing the progress of preparations for the 2027 European Games and also addressed Istanbul’s potential bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
