Președintele COSR Mihai Covaliu, membru în Comitetul Executiv al EOC, a prezentat raportul de evaluare al Comisiei de Coordonare pe care o conduce pentru Jocurile Europene Istanbul 2027.

Pentru prima dată de la alegerea sa în fruntea Comitetului Internațional Olimpic, Kirsty Coventry a participat la Adunarea Generală EOC ca președinte CIO și a subliniat importanța relațiilor strânse dintre CIO și EOC.

Lucrările au fost deschise de președintele Comitetului Olimpic din Ungaria Zsolt Gyulai, iar Spyros Capralos, președintele EOC a mulțumit NOC Ungaria pentru ospitalitate și moștenire olimpică, apreciind că Budapesta este o capitală a competițiilor.
Un punct important pe ordinea de zi a Adunării Generale a EOC a fost  prezentarea de către reprezentanții Comitetelor de Organizare a stadiului de în care se află  viitoarele competiții olimpice europene rezervate sportivilor tineri.

FOTE Brașov 2027 a deschis prezentarea prin Dan Ghiță, președintele Comitetului de Organizare. Au fost prezentatate locațiile, bazele sportive și facilitățile pentru cazare și transport. Au fost prezenți la ședință George Scripcaru – primar Municipiul Brașov, Adrian Veștea – președinte Consiliul Județean Brașov, Sorin Ciobanu – primar Predean, Horia Motrescu – primar Râșnov și Alexandru Gârbacea – deținătorul Complexului Cheile Grădiștei.

Brașov 2027 așteaptă acum Seminarul Șefilor de Misiune, programat în luna septembrie 2026, pentru prezentarea la fața locului a tuturor facilităților, a infrastructurii și a bazelor sportive în care vor avea loc întrecerile olimpice.

La rândul lor, directorul general al JE Istanbul 2027 și membrii echipei sale au prezentat un raport cuprinzător privind ediția de anul viitor a Jocurilor Europene și au dezvăluit reprezentanților CNO-urile prezente o serie de date cheie pentru anul următor.  
Raportul Istanbul 2027 a detaliat programul sportiv al competiției cu cele mai multe locuri de calificare olimpică din istoria Jocurilor Europene și planurile locațiilor.

Președinta CIO Kirsty Coventry și președintele EOC Capralos, secretarul general al EOC Carlo Mornati, trezorierul Peter Mennel și directorul general Jan Lehmann au informat delegații cu privire la activitatea EOC. Secretarul general al ANOC Gunilla Lindberg și James Macleod, directorul CIO pentru relații cu CNO-urile, Solidaritate Olimpică și Olimpism 365, au furnizat informații cheie despre cooperarea lor continuă cu EOC și CNO-urile sale.

Comitetul de Organizare a Jocurilor Olimpice de Iarnă Milano Cortina 2026 a prezentat un raport final, iar Comitetul de Organizare a Jocurilor Olimpice de vară Los Angeles 2028 și-a prezentat progresul prin intermediul unui videoclip care cuprindea inclusiv date cheie de care CNO-urile europene trebuie să fie conștiente, având în vedere că LA 28 vor avea loc peste numai doi ani.

55th EOC General Assembly held in Budapest

The 55th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) took place in Budapest, with George Boroi, Secretary General of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (ROSC), leading the Romanian delegation. The delegation also included Florin Mișcă, ROSC Deputy Secretary General, Mihaela Mitu from the ROSC International Relations Department, and Alexandra Nica, Director of the Olympic Education, School and University Sport Department.

Mihai Covaliu, President of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee and a member of the EOC Executive Committee, presented the evaluation report of the Coordination Commission he chairs for the Istanbul 2027 European Games.

For the first time since being elected President of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry attended the EOC General Assembly in her new role, highlighting the importance of the close partnership between the IOC and the EOC.

The Assembly was officially opened by Zsolt Gyulai, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee. Spyros Capralos, President of the EOC, thanked the Hungarian Olympic Committee for its hospitality and rich Olympic heritage, describing Budapest as a true capital of international sporting events.

One of the key items on the Assembly's agenda was an update from the Organising Committees of upcoming European Olympic events for young athletes.

The presentation of the Brașov 2027 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) was delivered by Dan Ghiță, President of the Organising Committee. The delegation showcased the competition venues, sports facilities, accommodation and transport plans. Also attending the session were George Scripcaru, Mayor of Brașov, Adrian Veștea, President of the Brașov County Council, Sorin Ciobanu, Mayor of Predeal, Horia Motrescu, Mayor of Râșnov, and Alexandru Gârbacea, owner of the Cheile Grădiștei Resort.

Brașov 2027 is now preparing for the Chefs de Mission Seminar, scheduled for September 2026, when participating National Olympic Committees will visit the competition venues and review the infrastructure, accommodation and sports facilities that will host the Festival.

The Organising Committee of the Istanbul 2027 European Games also presented a comprehensive progress report, outlining preparations for next year's Games and sharing key operational milestones with the National Olympic Committees.

The presentation detailed the sports programme, featuring the highest number of Olympic qualification places ever offered at a European Games, as well as the venue masterplan.

IOC President Kirsty Coventry, EOC President Spyros Capralos, EOC Secretary General Carlo Mornati, Treasurer Peter Mennel, and Chief Executive Officer Jan Lehmann updated delegates on the EOC's activities. Gunilla Lindberg, Secretary General of ANOC, and James Macleod, IOC Director for NOC Relations, Olympic Solidarity and Olympism365, also briefed delegates on their continued cooperation with the EOC and its member National Olympic Committees.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games Organising Committee delivered its final report, while the Los Angeles 2028 Organising Committee presented its latest progress through a video presentation highlighting key milestones and information relevant to the European National Olympic Committees, with LA28 now less than two years away.
